    Hi People,

The next version of Flickrmap should be ready next week.

Here's the new flash interface. Please test it out and let me know if you find any interface bugs.

    http://www.flickrmap.com/v2/test.php

    Main new features.
    * Trips with route lines showing air and ground travel.
    * Slideshow of lastest photos and photos near a selected location.
    * Split screen photo or full screen.
    * Multipule thumbnails for each location.
    * Google Earth link.
    * New map navigation model inline with other map services like google and yahoo so users know what to do.

Still a couple of things to finish, slide show for each trip and the google earth kml file.

Next I'm redoing the user area and homepage. Then it will be ready to roll out.

    Ok,

All the new features are now working including the Google Earth link.

You can test our your own Flickrmap account by changing the nsid value in the url below. You'll find your nsid value on the html code page. End of the 8th line down.

Please post your feedback and experiences using v2.

    Mark:

Thanks! Looks great; exports nicely to Google Earth. Any hints as to how I set up trips so I can test that part out?

    Hi Fuji,

A "trips" tab has now been added to the Flickrmap user area so you start building and testing your trips. Let me know how you find the process.

Thanks! Fixing the mouseover on the images was a great idea, and I will add more trips. With v.2, will you add the download feature so that we can host the map ourselves at some point?
    Great work on v.2.

I love the trips features, they're really wow! Although it did mean i spent quite a large part of my day redating stuff! (Note to self, always make sure date and time are set on the camera, or at least alter the EXIF data before you upload it to flickr)

Trying to get a start and finish point is a little clumsy, I've ended up reloading photos and altering the dates in flickr, but I don't really like having photos in my account with false dates on. It's a work around though, and the rest is so great I can live with it and for future trips I'll just make sure I take a start and finish photo.

Only minor point is that, on my trips at least, with the slideshow the highlighted "Point" is often hidden under other points so it's not always clear exactly where you are. Is there any way to fix this?

Also selecting an area with the spacebar doesn't seem to work anymore. I've tried it in Opera, IE and Mozilla.

Also I have put 3 trips on my map and they all show up, but on the trips tab at the bottom there are only two displayed and doesn't appear to be a way of finding the missing trip, am I not seeing some arrows somewhere?

Map is here if you need to see what I mean

I'll add in the scrolling of trips tonight. It's at the top of my todo list. I didn't imagine people making so many trips so quickly!

Would it be possible to assign Flickr sets to trips? That way one could add photos at a later date, and also have more than one trip incuding the same location(s). It would also IMHO make the selection of starting and ending points of a trip less clumsy :-)
Apart from that - Flickrmap is extremely cool; thanks a lot Zeman! I also loved your geotagging video explanantion - hearing the NZ accent made me want to fly back down under right away. Sweet as!

    Hi Mark,

Ebygomm mentioned ""Point" is often hidden under other points so it's not always clear exactly where you are".

I think the new location-pointer icons are too large for the map. I hope you would consider replacing it with the dots from the previous version. It was much easier to see the different locations with them, as the new ones seem to overlap each other. Cheers.
